Upgrading the processor or central processing unit (cpu) on the lenovo g550 is a simple job that can be done in about an hour. before attempting to upgrade the processor, set the cmos program to accept the new porcessor or it will not work.. If your laptop is over heating and you have tried all the easy stuff. you might just need to clean and replace the thermal compound that transfers the heat from the cpu to the heatsink..
